The RIVM (Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu) warns people with lung conditions like asthma and COPD for the particulate matter levels during New Year’s Eve. Due to the weather expectation, no rain, firework particulates remain air born. This can, in combination with other air pollutions, cause lung problems. Next to this, people suffering from heart and vascular diseases can also experience extra problems like dyspnea, stuffiness and coughing.
